The Monthly Rhythm

What does each month look like?

Each season spans three months, with two to three live sessions every month.

Every season follows the same rhythm, while exploring the unique lore, festivals, stories and teachings of that point in the Wheel of the Year.

Live Call One: Teaching Session

Stella illuminates the month's theme, sometimes alongside a guest teacher, leaving you with teachings, guided research pathways and embodied practices to carry into the month.

Between each session, you follow your own threads through study, research, embodiment, creativity and practice, weaving what you discover into your Sacred Record.

Live Call Two: The Bardic Circle

Together we share what we have discovered, honouring the oral traditions through story, song, poetry, philosophy, questions and conversation. As knowledge is spoken, it is remembered, embodied and carried forward.

The oldest traditions across the world, and from Britain, are oral traditions, where communities have long kept the wisdom of land and lineage alive through story, song, poetry, performance, ritual and ceremony.

The Mythic Spiral

What is the framework in Rinwen?

Within each season, learning follows The Mythic Spiral, this is the learning framework of Rinwen.

Rather than moving from one subject to the next, we return to the same three strands throughout every season, allowing your understanding to deepen through the changing seasons, the land, what you discover, and you own experience.

The strands are distinct, yet deeply interwoven. As we explore the sacred pathways of Britain, they naturally overlap, informing and enriching one another.

Oral Cultures

Consciousness · Mysticism · Personal myth · Re-writing the stories you carry, shape-shifting into new versions of self · Re-writing the underlying stories of culture.

Lore of the Season

Each season, before each of the sacred seasonal festivals, Stella records a teaching on the coming solstice, equinox or celestial midpoint, sharing the history and the misconceptions, from the beliefs, rituals and ceremonial customs. You are prompted to find out about the folklore and customs of this season yourself, whether localised or across the lands.

Deep Mapping & Your Sacred Record

Deep Mapping

Deep Mapping is looking to a place through the lens of the sacred — to its history, ecology, folklore, songs, stories, languages and more, discovering the many layers beyond what we know as a 2D map; the human, the ecological, the geological, the folkloric, the industrial.

This might look like deep mapping the whole of England, or a specific country, or even a specific river, to form a deeper understanding of the place of your ancestors, or the land you reside on.

Deep mapping is a process, not a product, a result, or a thing.

Your Sacred Record

Your Sacred Record is what you produce through this process. It is unique to you. You cannot show someone your deep map, deep mapping is a journey, but you can show someone your Sacred Record.

Your Sacred Record will hold the folklore, myth, song, story, sacred knowledge of the land you are on or the land of your ancestors. You will know exactly where every piece of it comes from, whether it is from a myth passed down through generations, a text written by the Romans, or contemporary folklor.

It is yours to keep,  to weave into your personal spiritual practice, your work as a community leader or facilitator, or your creative craft.

The living record you will build through a process called Deep Mapping, looking to the history, ecology, folklore, songs, stories and languages of a place through the lens of the sacred. Unique to you, your ancestors, or where you are. How will this inform your practice?

Sacred Celebrations

Weave the wheel of the year into your personal or community practices, discovering the truth behind the ancient seasonal festivals. Celebrate the Solstice, Equinox or Celestial Mid-Point, on the astronomical date so that you don't miss your in-person celebrations!

Guest Teacher Lessons

Some lessons will include guest teachers, enriching each seasonal theme with specialist knowledge and living practice.

Clarity

Principles of Rinwen

 A core principle in Rinwen that all inside share, is that of honouring the Earth, eachother, through dismantling the systems that have caused us to feel separate from the land and the beings around us. This is a space for you to create a living record of the ancestral and land-based spiritual pathways of Britain, rooted in the animist world-view. There is no dogmatic path to follow here. You follow your own threads, guided by original sources, teachings, and a living community.

This is

A centre for study and spiritual practice, rooted in Ecological and Ancestral belonging, for the modern world. Here, the knowledge is found through exploring the original historical sources, whilst receiving guidance through lived experience and following your personal callings.

This is not

Claiming to fully know the beliefs of the past or joining an ancient tradition. This is not a prescribed spiritual path. We aim to avoid romanticisation, appropriation or misinformation, and to build new stories where old ones are not found. This is not exclusionary for anyone, and open to all.

Do you host in-person events?

Caer Sidi isn't all online.


The most important thing we can do alongside reclamation of knowledge, is gather in person. Inside of Caer Siddi, members can share and promote in-person events, where a list of gatherings, ceremonies, and circles around the sacred pathways of Britain are promoted, both inside of Caer Siddi and in Stella's monthly newsletter, that will soon turn into a webpage.

 Meet your guide 

 

In 2018 I was preaching 'mother earth connection' while my practices were disconnected from my own ancestry, land and culture. Today, I'm a facilitator, speaker, storyteller and podcast host, sharing the ancestral wisdom traditions of Britain through study and embodiment.

I was born and brought up in Cardiff, the capital city of Wales, with ancestors from England, Wales and beyond, and I currently live in the valleys as an artist, storyteller and facilitator. As a child my family owned a vegan health-food shop, and in my late teens I ran a wholesale crystal business, cleansing with foreign herbs, inspired by spiritual traditions not of my lineage. Then I found a book on Celtic art in my university library and everything changed.

This endeavour into my own heritage began when I tapped into my grief and longing for the rich, mythic culture buried within the depths of my ancestors' suppressed historical past. My mam and dad both passed away before I was 25 due to suffering with mental health, now, bringing deep belonging and awe to people is my north star and greatest mission, and I have found this thorough Earth-based, ancestral spirituality.

Currently I'm pursuing a Master's Degree in Illustration and Animation, deep-mapping my local river, the River Taff, through animistic visual storytelling, researching similar traditions throughout time. This is building the foundation for Rinwen.
